So. Calif. Restaurant Writers Visit Anaheim White House
A recent dinner at Anaheim White House in Southern California was a huge hit. Writers from the Southern California Restaurant Writers Assn. enjoyed a five course dinner with wine pairings. Zucchini Blossoms were first. Zucchini Squash was stuffed with prosciutto and mozzarella cheese in a red bell pepper beurre blanc. The wine was a Franciacorta Bruet Ricci Curbastro from Italy. Second course was Sonoma Quail stuffed with yellow Italian polenta in a port wine demi glace. The course wine was Bourgogne Rouge Domaine de la Crea from France. Watermelon salad featured feta cheese, roasted walnut and black beans in a red wine reduction. The wine was a California Pinot Noir. Branzino was the next course encrusted in salt baked in extra virgin olive oil. Dessert prepared by Onesimo Lorenzo was a beignet over rice pudding. www.anaheimwhitehouse.com.
